Fashion week finished with panache on a day as opposite design sensibilities met in the shows. While Siddhartha Tytler showcased a contemporary take on traditional wear while Kommal Sood displayed her signature glam cocktail ensembles. Saaj by Ankita showcased delicate dresses and separates while Tanieya Khanuja brough an edgy vibe to the ramp. From a gothic mood to summer pastels, we’ve curated our favourite looks from the shows.
Siddhartha Tytler
Ditching heavy ethnic outfits, the veteran designer showcased a collection of fine white embellished pieces with a sprinkling of red and gold.
Dolly J
Florals in their many avatars made an appearance in flowing dresses and gowns. From delicate motifs to bold prints, it was a show of flower power.
Debarun
The Kolkata designer’s clothes always have a retro vibe—this season, he offered polka dotted blues and graphic patterns in shades of olive, blue, and ochre.
Kartikeya
A heady mix of racy and dainty, lots of lace, delicate trellis patterns, and floral embellishments prettied up the designer’s creations.
Kommal Sood
Another Kolkata designer, her party ready ensembles this season are inspired by feathers and featured plumage prints, feather details, and lots of grey and silver.
Saaj by Ankita
The emerging designer’s colour palette of taupe mixed with pastel tones add a touch of sophistication to outfits for spring.
Tanieya Khanuja
The dark lips may have stolen the show, but Khanuja’s uninhibited mix of colours, prints and textures offered an edgier perspective on summer dressing.
Prashant Varma
Designed for the power woman, the collection was heavy on pantsuits and functional looks that gradually transitioned towards more feminine cocktail ensembles. l
