The Derby shoe is a lot less formal than an Oxford and is considered a cross over shoe that can be styled both for formal and informal ensembles, appropriately. It is a very versatile shoe and is a must have for any stylish man. Available in many different colours and textures, the plain black and brown derby shoes are the most formal among the lot and can be worn with day suits or even part of a Friday dressing look.

For smart casual dressing, derbies are perfect because they work well with a blazer or sports coat with chinos or flat front trouser combinations. The cap toe derby is a more casual option and should traditionally only be worn with mix and match separates or relaxed formals, rather than suits. For a relaxed workwear dress code, a well-made derby shoe can be worn in a variety of ways.
