The Illustrated Weekly

Art director at a creative agency in Mumbai, Nalini is a woman of many interests. From creating illustrations for major brands to supervising outdoor shoots, her days are spent in a creative frenzy. When she isn’t working, you will find her doodling or leafing through her ever-growing collection of art books. We asked stylist Amritha Rajavelu to create a week’s worth of bohemian-inspired looks for Nalini’s artistic sensibilities.

Day 1: What makes Monday rosier? We think it’s a mix of coffee and a chic ensemble. A roomy blouse with wide-legged cropped pants prepares you for the week ahead in laidback style.

Day 2: For a client meeting, toe the line between formal and playful with an artsy, printed midi dress layered under a sleek white jacket. Finish with understated accessories.

Day 3: For weekly creative meetings at work, and daylong assignments, make denim your go-to uniform. Coordinate a pair of boyfriend jeans with printed T-shirts (crazy graphics are a no-no at work) and a woven blazer.

Day 4: Supervising shoots can be long and on some days, downright tedious. Give the formal skirt a free-spirited spin with printed top separates and bohemian accessories that can take you straight to a musical gig after work.

Day 5: There’s no such thing as Friday, not when a fabulous weekend’s right ahead. But we do recommend shades of blue in this relaxed ensemble that you can wear with equal impact at work or on a night out with friends.
