The Corona Virus outbreak has got us all to pause and distance ourselves socially and to curb the situation responsibly by staying indoors, at home. So how do we make the best of this while we’re not working (work from home)? Netflix and binge? Nah! Hours spent scrolling on social media? Nope. Let’s take this time for self-reflection and keep it as productive and positive as possible. Here are some great ideas for you to make your downtime, productive and fun!
Learn a new language
If you like to be multilingual just like I do, want to learn a new foreign language but never had the time to do so, this is our chance. Yes, learning a new language might sound tough but in the age of the Internet, we have so many guides and apps that are easily available online just at our fingertips. Once you’ve created a strong foundation of the new language during this period, it will be easy to grab on the other stages of learning too.
Create your Vision Board
We all write down our goals on a paper but how about visualizing it with a pictorial vision board? We all have goals, what we want to achieve in the next 3 or 5 years, when we visualize them we aim and work for it more every day. Vision boards are simple, get your old newspapers, magazines and a scissor, ask yourself what are your goals for the next 5 years? Now cut out images or quotes that closely describe it. Stick to a sheet or a board whatever is immediately available to you. Few years down the lane you will be amazed to see what you’ve achieved!
P.S- The timeframe of your vision board goals can be anywhere from 1-5 years.
De-clutter & Organize
That chore that you always wished to do but never had the time for it, yes I’m talking about de-cluttering your wardrobe, getting rid of the unnecessary items and organizing it for cleanliness and better access. Let’s make the best use of this time by spending some quality time with our loved ones. Unwind because it’s time to bring out your favorite old school board games, snake & ladder, business, ludo, monopoly, carom, etc. Also, a great time to bring back the bluff master in you with card games, you know what I mean? 😉
Redesign your living space
Want to amp up the aura of your living room or your bedroom? This is your time to reinvent your space and make a shift with small changes that could brighten up your area. You can get crafty and lookup for DIYs to add new key pieces that you just made out of scrap or recycled it in a better form. Most of these ideas will be easy to implement with limited resources available to you already!
Staying at home means less activity and more lounging. So to make sure you’re on track with your health and fitness take a few minutes of your day and exercise at home. There are plenty of videos available on YouTube for a quick 20-minute workout or more. My personal favorite is Yoga with Adriene, it’s a do along with the program for 30 days with a new flow each day. You can also lookup for other routines that need no equipment and can be done from your home. And hey, don’t forget to meditate and take a deep breath!
Let’s all be responsible and stay in-door for our safety and for the safety of people around us. We can overcome this situation together, by doing the best from our side.
