11 Times Bollywood Gave Us Style Lessons For the Festive Season

Festivals are no time to suffer that “I have nothing to wear” days. For Navratri, we turned to India’s favourite muse and source of inspiration this Navratri – Bollywood. Decked in their best traditional finery, Bollywood stars—armed with their go-to stylists—always have more than one spiffy style tip to offer. Here are our favourite celebrity looks for the season.

Lighter, more easily wearable than the regular lehenga, a crop top and skirt set makes for chic festive dressing. Check out Shilpa Shetty twirl in her lush blue ensemble.

A desi-inspired gown is as good, if not better, as any traditional ensemble. Shraddha Kapoor gives us style goals in her embellished cold shoulder gown.

Vibrant floral prints make for standouts #ootd in the midst of bling and baubles. Case in point: Swara Bhaskar’s sunshine-hued outfit paired with statement jewels.

Sparkling white is just right. If opting for this pristine shade, take a cue from Karishma Kapoor and look for understated embellishments or textures to elevate the outfit.

Durga Puja sees celebrities emerge in the prettiest sarees. Wearing a Payal Khandwala number, Bollywood darling Kajol makes a case for understated festive dressing.

It’s also perfectly legit to want to wear pants while pandal hopping. Neha Dhupia’s fusion festive style is in our list of love at first sight!

Capes are a failsafe, whether you pair them with jeans, sarees, or lehenga sets. Even for yummy mummies in the making, like Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Sonam Kapoor channels a look rooted in India, complete with a bindi and flowers in the hair. An old school ensemble that never fails to make an impact on traditional occasions.

For a more modern take, take your tips from Mugdha Godse in a minimalist look that packs a punch with its non-conformist spin on the saree.
