SKINCARE IN QUARANTINE

In my Quarantine and chill series, I’ve spoken about games, colour therapy but this one’s not about fun with friends or family or about work life. The time spent working or chilling with family is irreplaceable but giving time to your own self is just as important. It’s time to rejuvenate!

My funda is simple when it comes to skincare, it has to be time-efficient and with the current scenario, resource-efficient. Spending hours in a day on skincare is not feasible. Instead, I suggest taking out 10-20 minutes in a day or 2. Store-bought products are great but nothing beats the in-house DIY’s. Don’t worry I don’t mean hours of prep and making masks, I mean simple ingredients easily available at home, that can do wonders for your skin.

In no particular order, I just go with the day and see where does my skin needs the most attention that day. Here are a few simple skincare habits I’ve cultivated some on a daily basis and some on a weekly basis, I’ve been following this for a while so I’ve got great results with these simple ingredients.

FACE – We all have different skin types oily, dry, combination so knowing your skin type is very important to know what suits your skin best.

RAW MILK – Take one teaspoon of raw milk (just milk that’s not boiled or mixed with water) and dab it on your skin because of its liquid form it may drip a little. Keep it for 5 minutes till it dries and then gently start rubbing and taking it off. Wash your face with water, you will now notice softer and cleaner.

CURD + LEMON + HONEY – Take one teaspoon of thick curd and few drops of lemon and honey mix this to a thick consistency make sure it’s not too watery, it will be difficult to apply otherwise. Keep it for 10 minutes, wash it off and you will find an instant glow in your skin. Good for combination skin type.

GREEN TEA LEAVES + CURD – Tear open a green tea sachet and mix it with half teaspoon curd, just enough to soak the leaves. Apply this pack on your face and wash it off after 15 minutes. Green tea is a great antioxidant, it removes toxins and makes your skin soft and healthy. It’s a great exfoliator for all skin types.

EYES – Is too much screen time hurting your eyes?  It’s time to relax!

WET CLOTH – Take a handkerchief to fold it to the size to cover your eyes, dip it in water, and squeeze all the water out of your handkerchief. Lie down and keep this on your eyes for 20 minutes. Your eyes will get much-needed relaxation. No side effects, for best results follow it every day.

HAIR – Care for hair is it too much maintenance? Well not really. We have some simple at-home hair masks you can make easily.

CURD + FENUGREEK SEEDS – Soak 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds in 5 tablespoons of curd for 2 hours. Grind this mixture after 2 hours and apply this paste on your scalp and hair. Keep it for 20-30 minutes and then wash it off.  Fenugreek seed is the answer to all your hair fall problems.

CURD – If you do not have fenugreek seeds just applying curd can do wonders for your hair. It deep conditions your root and calms your scalp if you have dandruff. Keep it for 20 minutes and wash it off. Your hair will be softer than ever.

EYELASH & EYEBROW

Want naturally dense eyebrows and eyelashes? This one ingredient can change your life. Another best kept secret for on fleek brows is the Brow Lift Winnipeg procedure.

CASTOR OIL – Dab a little castor oil in a cotton ball and apply it in on your eyelashes and eyebrows and leave it overnight. Clean it thoroughly the next morning. Castor oil is great to boost the thickness of your hair naturally. Follow this every night for a month for good results. Eyelashes makes the eyes pop. Starting an eyelash extension business can be a good way to make some extra money.

Give your skin at least 10 minutes each day; this is to build a foundation to cultivating a habit. All the above ways are tried and tested by me personally but that does not mean it may give us all the same results. These natural ingredients usually are safe to use for all, but if you have an allergy please be cautious and avoid it. Self love every day!
