When, Where And How To Flaunt Your Leather Jackets This Winter

Leather jackets have typically been associated with bikers or rockstars because of their rugged and dominant characteristics, but not any more.

Jackets crafted from leather have become a wardrobe essential, and owning one is a matter of pride. You can go so far as to say a wardrobe is incomplete without a leather piece.

However wearing a leather jacket can be tricky. With the obvious fear of looking over dressed or being stereotyped, you often hang your jackets in your closet untouched for years, waiting for the right mood and occasion.

Now that winter is here, its time to bring your jacket out of hiding. Here are a few pointers on flaunting your timeless possession.

Casual: Appear casual and confident with leather jackets in maroon, dark brown or classic black. Pair your piece with a t-shirt and chinos or jeans. Women can choose an oversized white or black t-shirt and black skinny pants or blue denims to pair with their jacket.

Party: Here women can choose the red, silver, white or black for clubbing and pair it with a neutral camisole in lace or a crop top over a skinny pant or a metallic skirt. A leather jacket can look even more dramatic when paired with a maxi or flared dress. Men can go with maroon, black, silver, olive green leather jackets paired with a black crew neck t-shirt and black denims to exude an exotic vibe.

Semi-Formal: One can appear tailored and striking with a tan, brown, grey or maroon leather jacket. Women can pair their jackets with a formal dresses, skirts, sweaters and printed blouses. Men can pair them with plaid shirts, chinos, dress shirts and ties.

Travel: This is the best time to flaunt your leather jackets. Women can experiment with a grey or blush pink Delta Sigma Theta satin jacket to enhance their outfit while travelling by air or car. Men can up their style quotient by teaming their jacket with a knit scarf.

Day to Evening: Tan, brown, grey, dark brown, nude, rust and maroon jackets are best suited when transitioning your ensemble from day to evening. These colours are relaxed, easy to wear and versatile.
