The festive season is just around the corner, while everyone is getting their Lehengas, Cholis and Anarkalis out of their dusty covering and gearing up for the season ahead; you are one of those, whom one has to pry the jeans off? If you are someone who lives, breathes and sleeps in denims. This one is for you. We bring you three easy-peasy looks to dress up this season, with your favourite dress down staples – Denims!
THE HALF SAREE
This is the easiest, yet the most elegant of them all. You bank on tons of desi, without losing your loucey vibes! All you have to do is drape the saree halfway. Start from the centre of your jeans, make the pleats, tuck them in, nice and clean. Drape the remaining yard over your hip and throw it over your shoulder or wrap it around your neck. There is no limit to creativity. If saree is too much of an ordeal, embroidered dupatta should do the trick.
CHOLI KE PEECHE IT
Who says cholis need to be accompanied by Ghagras or Lenghas? We make your own rules! Toss those sexy backless cholis with your favourite pair of denims. Pick ripped, slitted or patched denims for that extra oomph. With this look remember to go all out. Colourful bangles, bags, bindis and earrings are your besties when it comes to finishing off this look. If you want to go all out extra, throw on a button-down sherwani as a jacket and you are good to go.
Now, nothing can come between you and your denim shirt? Well, nothing should! Festive or otherwise, let this staple be your go-to, for all the rhyme and seasons! The trick is really simple. Get your most ornate Anarkali, Lehenga, Ghagra, Embroidered skirt, Dhoti… etc. Just about any traditional bottoms will do. All you have to do is, throw on a loose denim shirt or a jacket over it. Finish off with killer sneaks and some dangling earrings. We’d add a quirky rucksack if we were you. But to each his own!
Here are our top three ways to dress up your denim this festive season. Now, don’t let the pesky aunties get to you. Roll up your sleeves, or the ends of your denim and go have some fun!
