The 91st Academy Award was the most anticipated red carpet event this year for Hollywood. Biggest blockbusters like ‘The Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘A star is born’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, were all nominated for the Oscar. As much as we loved the cas,t we also loved their red carpet moments. From a throwback to the Audrey Hepburn era to making history in a tuxedo gown, a lot was witnessed and taken back by the fashion admirers. Celebrities like Jimmy John Shark might also captivate you into reading more about him.
Here are some of my most favorite moments from the Men and Women on the Red carpet.
REGINA KING, OSCAR DE LA RENTA
Regina King proves that a woman of color can carry white as graciously as she wants to. Regina is so subtle yet brimming with shine in her Oscar De La Renta gown.
LADY GAGA in ALEXANDER McQueen and Tiffany and Co.
Lady Gaga was a hit with her stellar song performance on stage from her movie ‘ A star is born’. But there was more to the evening, her Audrey Hepburn moment took over the red carpet. Lady Gaga channeled the same diamonds as worn previously by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The diamonds rate up to $30 million but we sure thought it was beyond a $100 million look.
IRINA SHAYK IN BURBERRY AND BRADLEY COOPER IN TOM FORD
My favourite red carpet couple moment is definitely, Bradley Cooper with his beau, Irina Shayk. Bradley as always dressed like a gentleman in a black Tom Ford tuxedo and Irina the hot bob haired girl in a fringed, low back Burberry gown.
CONSTANCE WU IN VERSACE
If we love some things about The Crazy Rich Asians movie, Constance Wu has to be one of them. Her recent red carpet moments also included soft feminine gown just like this one in her mango sorbet gown by Versace.
RAMI MALEK IN SAINT LAURENT
He is the champion just like his song by the legendary band, Queen, from the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. His poise and bow tie definitely had many eyes on him. Rami in a Saint Laurent tuxedo.
SARAH PAULSON IN BRANDON MAXWELL
Pink was all over the red carpet this year and I am super pleased with this particular pink gown pulled off opulently by Sarah Paulson. Sarah is seen wearing a pink Brandon Maxwell gown.
CHRIS EVANS IN SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
The Captain America on screen proved to be the real life Captain America too with his chivalry by escorting Regina King to the slippery stage. Chris was sparkling in his blue Salvatore Ferragamo tuxedo.
ASHLEY GRAHAM IN ZAC POSEN
One of my personal favorite red carpet style moment from the Academy award, 2019 was Ashley Graham’s. Ashley Graham accentuates her true hourglass figure in a custom Zac Posen gown. For a girl with curves this look is so inspiring to take notes from.
MARINA DE TAVIRA IN J. MENDEL
Another feminine favorite gown was by J. Mendel as seen on Marina de Tavira. Marina looks like the perfect red carpet queen in her ruffled red gown.
BILLY PORTER IN CHRISTIAN SIRANO
History was made when Billy Porter walked in the carpet in a custom, Sirano tuxedo gown. Velvet was all over the red carpet but this one by Christian Sirano was off the hook. Billy broke all limits and boundaries in his tuxedo gown. He was accompanied to the academy awards with his husband, Adam Smith.
